Mint, melted dark chocolate, sweet blackcurrant, coconut, Nutella and a general impression that you’re about to dive into a rich, dark, hedonistic pool. All these first impressions are confirmed when you take your first mouthful, which is faithful to the nose but then adds a significant swagger of tannin. This wine is certainly seductive but it’s also serious, in style, and serious in quality too. Indeed the word profound comes to mind. There’s some alcohol warmth here but this is an outstanding wine, concentrated, warm and expansive. 95 points."

"This is a voluptuous wine straight up but then it also has the structure to support it. The end result is a seriously good red wine, in a full-bodied style. Blackcurrant, nori sheets, milk chocolate, dried tobacco, undergrowth and pure plum flavours drive the palate, with orange peel and mint notes as highlights. There are subtle sings of bottle-age development here but it remains inky and deep. This is drinking beautifully right now but there’s certainly no hurry; it has years ahead of it."
